Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2025 sold out in under 40 minutes, reflecting the massive demand for the world-famous event. Thousands of hopeful attendees joined the online queue at 09:00 GMT, and by 9:35 GMT, all tickets were gone.
Organisers confirmed the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter), thanking those who secured tickets and apologizing to those who missed out. They also announced a resale of cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2025 for those still hoping to attend.
The 2025 festival is set to take place from 25 to 29 June at Worthy Farm in Somerset, before the event takes a fallow year in 2026 to allow the ground to recover. Tickets were priced at £373.50, including a £5 booking fee, marking an £18.50 increase from the previous year.
Fans needed to be registered in advance, with the registration process closing on 11 November. Each buyer could purchase a maximum of six tickets, with full payment required by 7 April 2025, after which unpaid tickets will be offered in the resale.
The festival’s popularity continues to grow, with general tickets for the 2024 event also selling out in under an hour. Around 210,000 people attended Glastonbury in June, highlighting its status as one of the largest music festivals in the world.
The 2024 lineup included major acts like Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and SZA on the Pyramid Stage, while Shania Twain graced the Sunday Legends spot. The lineup for 2025 is yet to be announced, but anticipation remains high.
Organisers have implemented an automatic queue system to manage the high demand, requiring fans to be online with a valid registration number before the sale began.
This system aims to streamline the ticket-buying process and prevent chaos caused by overwhelming demand. Despite these measures, many fans expressed disappointment over missing out, underscoring the festival’s enormous appeal.
Environmental sustainability remains a key focus for Glastonbury. Organisers are encouraging festival-goers to opt for eco-friendly travel options, with combined ticket and coach packages made available earlier in the week.
This initiative is part of the festival’s broader commitment to reducing its environmental impact and promoting green practices among attendees.
The year-long hiatus in 2026 will allow Worthy Farm to recover from the heavy footfall the festival attracts annually.
This tradition of taking a fallow year has helped preserve the farm’s environment while maintaining the festival’s long-term viability. Fans will likely use this break to anticipate a highly anticipated return in 2027.
As the countdown to Glastonbury 2025 begins, speculation about the lineup continues to build. The festival’s reputation for hosting iconic performances and showcasing diverse talent ensures that excitement will only grow in the coming months.
For those unable to secure tickets, the spring resale offers a final chance to join the celebration at Worthy Farm.
