Mark Zuckerberg and T-Pain have collaborated on an acoustic version of Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz’s 2002 hit song Get Low.
The new rendition of the track is a heartfelt gift from Zuckerberg to his wife, Priscilla Chan, in celebration of their 21st wedding anniversary. The song holds sentimental value for the couple as it was playing when they first met at a college party.
Zuckerberg announced the collaboration on Instagram Stories earlier this week, sharing a photo with T-Pain and captioning it, “It’s happening guys.” T-Pain also posted the same picture, affectionately referring to Zuckerberg as “Z” and hinting at the project’s significance with the words, “It is time…”
The Facebook founder revealed that listening to Get Low has become an annual tradition for him and Chan on their dating anniversary. This year, he decided to take it a step further by creating a personalized acoustic version with T-Pain. He shared the finished track on Instagram, dedicating it to Chan with the message, “Sound on for the track and also available on Spotify. Love you, P ❤️.”
Zuckerberg and Chan first met at a fraternity party at Harvard University in 2003. Their relationship has spanned two decades, culminating in their marriage in May 2012, the same month that Facebook became a private company. Together, they have three daughters: Maxima, 8, August, 6, and Aurelia, 13 months.
The collaboration underscores the growing friendship between Zuckerberg and T-Pain. According to Billboard magazine, the two have built a relationship over the years, with Zuckerberg even participating in one of the musician’s live streams. Earlier this year, T-Pain gifted Zuckerberg a custom Nappy Boy Meta chain as a token of their connection.
The acoustic rendition of Get Low marks a unique intersection of tech and music, showcasing Zuckerberg’s personal side as he honors a significant milestone in his marriage. The project also highlights T-Pain’s versatility as a musician and his ability to bring fresh takes to classic hits.
Fans of both Zuckerberg and T-Pain have expressed curiosity and excitement about this unexpected collaboration. By making the song available on Spotify, the duo has extended the intimate anniversary tribute to a wider audience, blending nostalgia with a personal touch.
This creative endeavor reflects Zuckerberg’s evolving persona, combining his roles as a tech mogul, devoted husband, and collaborator in a venture that bridges his personal and professional worlds. The project stands as a testament to the power of music in capturing and celebrating cherished memories.
