Nigerian gospel singer Aduke Gold, whose real name was Ajayi Aduke Morounkola, has passed away. The news was shared by her colleague Esther Igbekele on Facebook, though the cause of death has not been disclosed.

She wrote,

“A general has fallen. ADUKE GOLD #rip”

Aduke Gold, who grew up in Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos, was the 11th child of her late parents.

Aduke began her music career in 2004 and gained prominence with her performance at a tribute event for the late gospel artist Baba Are. Her 2021 hit single “Nitori Ogo” further elevated her status in the gospel music scene. In addition to her musical achievements, Aduke held a degree in history and international studies from Lagos State University and a higher degree in child psychology from the UK.
