Hudson Meek, the talented teenage actor known for his role in the 2017 action film Baby Driver, tragically passed away on December 21 at the age of 16.

Meek suffered fatal injuries after falling from a moving car in Vestavia Hills, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, on December 19. Despite receiving care at UAB Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries two days later. The news has left his family, friends, and fans heartbroken, with tributes pouring in to honor the young actor’s life and potential.

A heartfelt message shared on Meek’s Instagram account announced his passing, reading, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight.” Born on August 5, 2008, Meek’s journey as an actor began early alongside his brother, Tucker.

He made his on-screen debut at just six years old in the 2014 TV movie The Santa Con. Over the years, he built an impressive resume, earning 17 credits across film and television, including roles in 90 Minutes in Heaven (2015) and episodes of MacGyver, Genius, and Found. His performances demonstrated a natural talent and charisma that captured audiences and industry professionals alike.

Lynne Marks, a representative of Meek, shared a heartfelt tribute to the young star on Thursday. “I have watched him grow from a young actor in Baby Driver to a handsome young man, proudly walking the red carpets of his upcoming projects,” she said.

Marks emphasized Meek’s bright future in acting, noting his involvement in The School Duel, a film that recently won the Canal+ 50th Anniversary Prize at the Deauville Film Festival in France. Her words reflected the immense pride and belief many had in Meek’s potential to become a leading figure in the entertainment industry.

In addition to his acting accomplishments, Meek left a legacy of kindness and determination that extended beyond his screen appearances. To honor his memory, The Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship has been established and will be awarded annually to a student from Vestavia Hills High School.

The scholarship reflects Meek’s connection to his community and serves as a reminder of the impact he had on those around him. It ensures that his spirit of creativity and aspiration will continue to inspire future generations.

As the entertainment world mourns the loss of Hudson Meek, his contributions to film and television remain a testament to his talent and dedication.
