Tiwa Savage Debuts “Lost Time” As Part of The Soundtrack Album For Her Inaugural Feature Film

Tiwa Savage, known for her prowess as a singer, songwriter, and actor, has ventured into a new realm with the release of “Lost Time,” the first single from her upcoming debut feature film, ‘Water & Garri’.

Collaborating with Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, the movie is scheduled for release on May 10, 2024, on Prime Video, accompanied by the full soundtrack distributed by EMPIRE.

Produced by Khari ‘Needlz’ Cain, renowned for his work with artists like Bruno Mars and Drake, alongside co-producer Poo Bear, recognized for his contributions to Justin Bieber’s music, “Lost Time” delves into themes of past love and nostalgia, enveloped in a captivating mid-tempo production.

Tiwa Savage’s immersive soundtrack features ten original songs, boasting collaborations with a diverse array of artists from Afropop, R&B, and Hip Hop genres.

Grammy-nominated stars like Olamide and Ayra Starr, as well as celebrated Nigerian singer-songwriter ASA and Cameroonian multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona, contribute their talents to the album. Additionally, guest appearances from artists such as Cortez, Black Sherif, Reekado Banks, and Young Jonn enrich the musical tapestry curated by Tiwa Savage.

The film ‘Water & Garri’ serves as a milestone in Tiwa Savage’s artistic journey, marking her first lead role in a feature film and her debut as an Executive Producer.

Portraying the character Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer returning to her native home after a decade abroad, Tiwa Savage navigates themes of familial loss, cultural identity, and personal growth amidst a backdrop of escalating violence and societal tensions.

As Aisha reconnects with her past, she confronts her inner demons and strives to reconcile with the guilt of her past decisions.
