Veteran Nigerian filmmaker and producer Zeb Ejiro will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Nigerian Week in London. The Nigerian Week is an annual week-long international festival that blends entertainment and business events, showcasing the best of Nigerian products, services, and cultural heritage.
The event, organized by SRTV London in partnership with various Nigerian ministries and organizations, will take place from July 22 to July 28.
The award recognizes Ejiro’s immense contributions to Nollywood and the entertainment industry. Known for producing the 1996 blockbuster movie “Domitila,” Ejiro has significantly shaped the Nigerian film industry.
The festival will feature a variety of activities, including an Afrobeat music extravaganza, a moonlight film festival showcasing African movies, a Nigerian fashion show, cultural displays, and trade exhibitions of Nigerian agricultural produce.
Ejiro, born in Isoko, Delta State, is the brother of the late Chico Ejiro, also a veteran filmmaker. In 2005, Zeb Ejiro received the National Honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) from former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He is credited with numerous films, including “Nneka the Pretty Serpent” (1994), “Domitila” (1996), “Sakobi the Snake Girl” (1998), and “Mortal Sin” (2003), among others. He also created the long-running drama series “Ripples,” which aired on NTA in the 1990s and is now back on DSTV.
