Renowned street artist Banksy has unveiled a new artwork in west London, featuring a silhouette of a goat perched atop a wall. The piece, executed in Banksy’s signature stencil style, is situated near Kew Bridge in Richmond.

Nearby, a CCTV camera occasionally points at the goat as rocks appear to tumble beneath it. Banksy confirmed the artwork through a post on his Instagram account, continuing his tradition of using social media to authenticate his pieces.

This new artwork comes approximately a month after Banksy’s previous piece sparked controversy. During the Glastonbury Festival in June, Banksy presented an imitation migrant boat crowd-surfing during performances by indie punk band Idles and rapper Little Simz.

This provocative piece prompted then Home Secretary James Cleverly to criticize Banksy for “trivializing” the serious issue of small boat crossings, describing the artwork as “vile.”

In response, Banksy defended his work, labeling Cleverly’s reaction as exaggerated. He highlighted the real tragedy as the detention of a rescue boat he funded, which had saved unaccompanied children at sea but was held by Italian authorities.

Earlier in March, Banksy created another notable piece in north London. This artwork featured a mural of a tree with the wall behind a recently cut tree sprayed green to simulate foliage, continuing Banksy’s tradition of thought-provoking and socially relevant street art.
